NBA 2K25 Servers Will Shut Down on Dec. 31, 2026

NBA 2K25 Anti Cheat

NBA 2K25 is nearing the end of the road, with 2K set to pull the game from digital storefronts on October 30, 2026, before shutting down its servers on December 31. Starting January 1, 2027, multiplayer and other online features will no longer be available, following the franchise’s usual cycle of delisting older titles as newer releases take over.

The shutdown will hit some of the game’s biggest modes, including MyCAREER and MyTEAM, which require a connection to 2K’s servers. Players will also lose access to online leagues, community sharing, and the ability to earn VC. That means MyCAREER’s single-player story content will disappear, too, despite the mode being built around individual player progression and upgrades.

It’s not all bad news, though. Existing owners can still redownload NBA 2K25 and play supported offline modes, including Play Now, MyNBA, The W, and MyWNBA. Released in September 2024, the game will have provided roughly two years and four months of access to its online career experience before the shutdown takes effect.

With the clock ticking, players looking to get the most out of NBA 2K25’s online modes have only a few months left. Once the servers go offline, MyCAREER and MyTEAM will be gone for good, leaving offline gameplay as the main way to keep hooping in NBA 2K25.
